Download Discounts for Mar. 21: Garage Inc., Amazing Sudoku, Hurdle Turtle

About 30,000 people in my neck of the woods ran the L.A. Marathon on Sunday, despite pouring rain that lasted all day and well into the night. Those runners deserve to take it easy today, so we’ve got a few totally free games for them (and you!) to play and enjoy. Check out the gangster-themed time management game Garage Inc. up front, followed by some addictive Sudoku action in Amazing Sudoku, and 8-bit turtles on tracks in Hurdle Turtle.

Garage Inc. (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)

It’s Chicago, 1928, and the mob is alive and well. And you get to deal with them as a mechanic trying to make a go of running your own business in Garage Inc., a time management game in which you’ll balance the ins and outs of business, actually repairing people’s cars, and getting the Chicago families to leave you alone (or at least play nice) by paying off your debt to them and doing them favors.

Garage Inc. features an interesting storyline for its main campaign, but if you’re feeling like you’d just like to grow your business as big as it can be, try the newly added Endless mode. The game also packs a hand-drawn art style that adds to the dark feel and period sensibilities.

Amazing Sudoku (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)

You don’t get just one brand of Sudoku when you download Amazing Sudoku for free, you get two. The first is Classic Sudoku, the version you’re used to seeing in the backs of newspapers with the grid and the numbers. The second, Magic Sudoku, is a little more visually engaging and changes up the rules a bit.

Amazing Sudoku also packs a lot of cool features that will help you complete more puzzles or find more challenge. It includes an infinite number of randomly generated levels, and features a hint system if you’re stuck, the ability to “undo” or “redo” actions. It also packs OpenFeint integration for leaderboards and achievements, allowing you to see just how much of a Sudoku master you really are.

Hurdle Turtle (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)

An 8-bit style and a trackster reptile adorn Hurdle Turtle, a distance game that will remind you of a simpler time in gaming. The idea is to get as far down the track as possible, by dodging objects in the way. Your turtle can either jump obstacles with the virtual jump button, or navigate to another lane on the track with the virtual joystick.

Over the course of setting records in each of Hurdle Turtle’s three levels, you’ll get the opportunity to unlock and play with 11 different turtle characters. You’ll also get to log your distances onto OpenFeint and Game Center’s online leaderboards, and unlock achievements for your progress.
