Download Discounts for Jan. 12: UNO, Top Secret Audio Recorder, Super Blast

Feel like a rousing game of UNO with someone across the country? Gameloft has the iPhone version of the super-popular card game on sale, complete with its Wi-Fi enabled multiplayer mode. It’s the top discount on our list today, but we’ve also got another tilt-based arcade game, and an app that turns your iPhone into an incognito audio recorder, and they’re both free.

UNO (iPhone) $0.99 (was $4.99)

Gameloft is celebrating the anniversary of UNO with another big price cut, hot on the heels of the price reduction it rolled out for the holidays. For a limited time, the iPhone version of the card game is down to just 99 cents.

UNO puts the card game in your hand, but without the cards. You can play it alone against the app’s AI opponents, or take the game online and play against other humans all over the world using a Wi-Fi connection. You can also customize nine different game rules to play your own specific versions of the game.

Top Secret Audio Recorder (iPhone) Free (was $0.99)

As you might have guessed from the name, Top Secret Audio is meant to help you record sound discreetly, whether it be in class or during a secret Mafia sting. You can set the app to start recording when it picks up sound or when you hit the record button, and it’ll continue to record even with the screen locked. You’ll need a passcode to unlock the screen while Top Secret is running, so even if someone else happens to pick up the phone, they won’t get clued into what’s going on.

Recordings can be started and stopped by tapping anywhere on the screen, allowing you to start the app’s recording without having to look down at it. Once you’re done recording, you can sync the audio files with iTunes to get them onto your computer, or email them to others. Best of all, Top Secret’s audio recording time is limited only by the amount of hard drive space you have free on your iPhone.

Super Blast (iPhone) Free (was $0.99)

This tilt-controlled arcade title is on sale for a limited time, and recently received a pretty decent graphical update to go with the iPhone 4’s retina display. Super Blast is a vertical shooter in which you don’t control the shooting, just the aiming. As you tilt your device, your ship moves around the screen, blasting enemies — but if any get past you, it’s game over.

Super Blast is pretty simple, but still engaging in that it’s easy to pick up and doesn’t take much to learn to play well. The game includes multiple power-ups to change up the gameplay and Open Feint support for leaderboards and achievements.
