Download Discounts for Feb. 17: Buddy Rush, Skyfire, Gyroscope Sailboat Inclinometer

Take on quests with your Facebook friends in Buddy Rush, a cross-platform dungeon-crawling role-playing game that’s free today. It’s not the only Download Discount we have for you, though. Skyfire, the iOS web browser that is enabled for Flash websites, is available at a reduced price, and if you need to see how tilted your sailboat is, we’ve got a free app for you.

Buddy Rush (iPhone) Free (was $0.99)

A dungeon-crawling role-playing game with a fun, bright art style and easygoing story, Buddy Rush tasks you with building a group of heroes to do such important tasks as attend a party in the next town over. You’ll fight bugs and monsters over the course of Buddy Rush, but always with a band of loyal companions by your side, apparently.

Buddy Rush requires you to use a Facebook account to sign-in and is actually cross-platform, allowing you to play with (and compete against) your Facebook friends. You’ve got more than 40 missions to complete over five chapters in the game, and more than 1,000 items to find, buy, sell and hit bad guys with.

Skyfire Web Browser $1.99 (Was $2.99) for iPhone, $2.99 (was $3.99) for iPad

There’s one very compelling to get the Skyfire Web Browser instead of just relying on the free Safari app that comes with your iPhone or iPad: the browser accommodates Flash on Internet sites. If you’ve always wanted a Flash-capable iPhone browser but the cost was too high, have we got news for you: Skyfire is currenly on sale for about a dollar off its asking price.

You can’t use Hulu with Skyfire (the service blocks the app), but you can watch millions of other videos. Skyfire also has one-touch connectivity with Facebook and Twitter and can emulate a desktop browser, to give you more of the browsing experience you’d get on your PC or Mac.

Gyroscope Sailboat Inclinometer (iPhone) Free (was $0.99)

Your iPhone’s internal gyroscope powers this app, which works a lot like a level, but with some extra style. An inclinometer measures how far tilted a sailboat is on the water, so that’s what’s shown on the screen of your device — basically, a tilt gauge. But a special one, with a special name.

Gyroscope Sailboat Inclinometer doesn’t require you to calibrate it (your iPhone is smarter than that) and works as soon as you open the app. It’s free, which is nice, and it can measure the tilt on other things, like picture frames and tables and anything else that might be tilted and unlevel.
