The Valentine’s Day App Store game sales continue rolling in. Today, we’ve got a few choice Sega and Capcom titles that are going for $0.99 for a limited time. You can find more of their titles marked down for a limited time by entering “Sega” or “Capcom” into the App Store’s search field. In the meantime, you can read about a few of our favorite discounted options below.

Street Fighter IV (iPhone) $0.99 (was $9.99)

Capcom’s port of the latest version of its console fighting game is one of the most impressive on the iPhone, both for graphics and gameplay. It’s price is way reduced, so pick it up now while you have the chance. Street Fighter IV uses on-screen virtual controls to put you into the action and includes 14 fighters and 11 arenas from the Street Fighter series.

You’ll get four difficulty levels of fighting mayhem in Street Fighter IV, along with a Dojo mode that’ll teach you how to play if you’re new to the series. Each character has a full set of special moves like fireballs and other attacks, as well as devastating combos. Street Fighter IV contains a whole lot of features, and at this price, you’ll want to add it to your app collection.

Resident Evil 4: Platinum (iPhone, iPad) $0.99 (was $4.99)

Resident Evil 4 on the Nintendo GameCube is one of my favorite games of the last decade, so having a scaled-down iPhone version is great. And RE4’s mobile treatment from Capcom is solid and reliable, emulating a lot of the tense action and survival-horror feel of the console original, while making the game work pretty well with the iPhone’s touchscreen controls.

RE4: Platinum has a lot of the features that made the console title great. It includes a story mode set in the Resident Evil universe that recreates the one from the bigger version of Resident Evil 4, and also includes the time-based arcade-style “Mercenaries” mode that you can unlock when you’ve made it all the way through. You’ll fight huge bosses and lots of zombie-type enemies galore in this one, all at a great price.

Sonic the Hedgehog (iPhone) $2.99 (was $4.99)

Sega’s flagship speedy platformer features the blue hedgehog of myth and legend. Originally appearing on the Sega Genesis, Sonic stormed through the 1990s to rival Nintendo’s Mario (although the hedgehog would never surpass him), and this is the game that started it all. It’s down to almost half price for Sega’s Valentine’s Day sale, and you wouldn’t be remiss in shelling out a couple of bucks for this classic.

Sonic features all seven of the game’s original zones and all its original gameplay. You won’t find much new content here — this is pretty much a straight port of the original, like all of Sega’s old games brought to the iPhone — but Sonic is a strong enough title that it doesn’t need much in the way of updating or special treatment to be a great game. For a bit of gaming nostalgia at a good price, you’ve come to the right place.
