Download Discounts for Apr. 6: Tiki Totems 2, Hero Princess, Clowning-Around

Need some new puzzle games? We’ve got a couple of great ones in Tiki Totems 2 and Clowning-Around, two free games on today’s Download Discounts list. Read about both of them below, along with the casual action game Hero Princess, as well. All three cost absolutely nothing for a limited time, so act fast.

Tiki Totems 2 (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $1.99)

The gods of your island are displeased. They desire that you worship their idol, but it is placed atop precarious piles of wood and stone. In order to pay proper tribute you’ll need to strategically dismember the piles to drop the idol onto its stone pedestal — but if it touches the ground, the gods’ fury will be unleashed in the form of a volcanic eruption.

Along with 208 puzzles in which you’ll have to carefully tap to destroy components and use physics to lower the totem downward, the game also packs a level editor that allows you to create puzzles of your own. Those levels can be uploaded to the Internet, allowing others to give them a shot — and you can download puzzles created by others to get a new challenge, as well.

Hero Princess (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)

There aren’t any soldiers to defend this princess’ castle, so she has to do the job herself. Barbarian hordes are storming the castle walls, so as the princess, you have to use whatever you can to knock them off. Tapping drops bricks on lighter enemies to send them plummeting, while heavier enemies will require you to shake them loose of their ladders.

The more viking attackers you put down, the stronger their resolve and their onslaught. But racking up dead vikings earns crystals that can be used to conjure spells and take out groups of enemies and earn an even higher score on Hero Princess’ Game Center-supported leaderboards.

Clowning-Around (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)

If you like Cut the Rope, you’ll get a kick out of Clowning-Around, which uses a similar slicing touch technique to solve its puzzles. Clowns have pulled themselves into balls and need to be rolled into barrels that correspond to the clowns’ colors. In order to do that, you’ll need to cut ropes and use physics to figure out how to get the clowns where they need to go.

Your primary job in Clowning-Around is to cut the correct chains in the correct order or with proper timing to solve each of the game’s 75 puzzles. You’ll also have to figure out how to use various objects in each puzzle, including seesaws and cannons. Clowning-Around packs timed and arcade game modes to give you more to do once you’ve mastered all its puzzles.
