Save a buck or two with these download discounts for gaming, world travel and photography.

Games

Blitz – WWII Fury Campaign (iPhone)

Free (was $0.99)

A port of the old Commodore 64 classic, Blitz is a little like Space Invaders, but in reverse. You pilot a bomber, taking out everything in your path. The game randomly generates levels “to match your skill,” and tracks your score and play position after you shut it down – so every time you load up Blitz, you’re right where you left off. Not to mention that it’s free for a limited time.

Face2Face Hold ‘em (iPhone, iPad)

$3.99 (was $6.99)

Here’s the most expensive game of poker many people will ever play, even before the cards are dealt.

Face2Face Hold ‘em makes use of smartphones together with an iPad to set up a game of Texas Hold’em poker – the iPad is the table and the phones are your cards. It creates a really clean, low-hassle way to play, without having to worry about things like, you know, physical objects.

I guess if you have an iPad and an iPhone or two, you may as well play poker with your buddies in technological splendor. At least you can save money on the app.

Travel

TripWare MoBook (iPhone, iPad)

Free (was $0.99)

Fill in the profile information for TripWare MoBook the first time you start it up and the travel app fills up with information about trips and fares to meet your needs. It allows you to search through its various airfare listings, find the price and dates you want, and book everything – the flight, the hotel stay, even a rental car – all from the app. And you can integrate your frequent flyer and other rewards programs into TripWare, to make sure you get the most for your buck.

Photography

ColorBlast! (iPhone, iPad)

$0.99 (was $1.99)

This is a simple app that makes for some very cool images. Use ColorBlast! to selectively colorize your pictures, turning most of the photo black-and-white and adding color to only one element. Grab it while it’s still on sale, as it looks like this one should have been knocked back up to full price today.
