Contacts Journal is an iPhone app to manage your social life

If you are social, you likely spend a lot of time corresponding and meeting people. But you may forget to return a phone call or add an event to a calendar because your social calendar remains so full. The iPhone app Contacts Journal combines the correspondence with friends in order to keep you on top of your social game.

Import your iPhone contacts and the app mimics the Contacts tab with a few additional features. You can keep a log, a to-do list and any favors for each of your iPhone contacts.

You can jot notes about a meeting you just had with a client or remind yourself to feed the neighbor’s dog while she is vacationing.  Repeat reminders are available as well, giving a calendar-like approach to managing your relationships.

Unfortunately, Contacts Journal cannot sync with your iPhone calendar. A useful workaround for some of these limitations would be to sync with third party services such as Google Calendar. This would offer calendar integration to a certain portion of iPhone users, as well as backup and remote retrieval of information saved in the Contacts Journal app.

Another automated way to track correspondence with people is to integrate Contacts Journal with social networks like Twitter, where interaction between users often leads to an action requiring follow-up.
