Chess Day!

Jul 19, 2010

According to my calendar tomorrow is Chess day. For the addicted this is likely no surprise but if you’re like me, wishing you were able to play a good game of chess, this may be just the day to start brushing up on your chess skills.

Here’s some apps to help you celebrate and learn a bit more about the game of chess.

Chess – Play & Learn

Well the title says it all, play and study chess. If you’re looking to learn more about the game this is the app for you. You can even play games against other real people. The biggest complaint about this app is that it may be too hard for you if you’re a complete beginner. Worth a go as this app by a large player (ha!) in the chess community is likely to become better and better over time.

Chess – Learn Chess

Want to read an ebook about playing chess? This is the app for that. Well loved by reviewers this app will help you get your chess learning on without costing you a penny. Gotta love that!

Chess Free

A free game that allows you to change the settings to customize the game to your skill level. Free so worth giving a go to help you get your game on.

Chess Problems

All the classic chess problems at your fingertips. Yes, like other apps you can choose a level so you’re not having to solve genius problems right from the beginning… however the app does state “Note: Even easy problems are rather hard” so don’t beat yourself up with this app too much until you’re feeling stronger!
