Catch every minute of the Michael Jackson Doctor Trial

I haven’t been closely following the trial of Dr. Conrad Marry, the doctor on trial on charges of involuntary manslaughter related to the death of superstar Michael Jackson, but if I wanted to keep track of every detail, I’m happy to know that universal app Michael Jackson Doctor Trial is here to help me. Overkill? Perhaps. The app, developed by the Fox-owned-and-operated KTTV-TV in Los Angeles, is ideal for those devoted to the court proceedings, but what I found more significant than the app’s content is its potential role as a game-changer for media’s presence in the App Store.

Within Michael Jackson Doctor Trial (that name is also how the trial is referred to popularly), users can access the live video feed and watch every minute of the trial as it unfolds in the Los Angeles courtroom. If you don’t have the time (or energy) to delve into the live feed, you can read text summaries of the most recent testimonies through the links below the live feed. For users who still want to watch the trial, but can’t make the live feed fit their lifestyle, archived video clips are available via the “Videos” tab. Here users will find newscast clips that excerpt the most important portions of the testimony and proceedings.

A comprehensive photo gallery is also included in Michael Jackson Doctor Trial, and contains more images than one could possibly want of people sitting on a witness stand. For someone like me who is (purposefully) not aware of information on this case, the most useful section is found under the “More” tab. This section is packed with biographies of everyone involved, scans of court documents and video of Jackson family reactions.

For a dollar, users are getting complete access to the Conrad Murray trial, and that access means that viewers don’t have to put forth any effort to obtain the information. Although I’m not convinced that the Michael Jackson Doctor Trial is worthy enough of its own app, I won’t be surprised in the least if we start to see more event-centered apps similar to this appear for public consumption.
