Did you know that humans only use 10 percent of their brains? Worse, according to Brain Challenge, I only use 8 percent of mine.

Brain Challenge’s goal is to stretch your brain so you think faster and retain more knowledge. Think of it as exercises to tone you’re brain.

When you first play Brain Challenge, you have to take the brain test. You are guided through a series of tests with questions like which object is heavier to simple arithmetic problems you have to solve while being timed. After the tests, you receive a percentage that tells you how much brain you are using.

After my embarrassing score of 8 percent, I was determined to improve. Brain Challenge guides you like a personal trainer would in a gym. You can choose several exercises to train your brain and its ability to cope with stress through the “training room.”

A drawback is that you can only have one profile. If you want to share your iPhone or iPod Touch with friends to see their brain score, they need to play under your name.

The challenges are interesting and the app is filled with tons of mini-games, facts and bonus material to explore. The daily test keeps you coming back, and your brain score starts to improve as you learn how to think quickly.

If you’re looking for a challenge and something to keep you brain sharp, Brain Challenge delivers.
