eat AntiCancer lite

I think anti-cancer foods are relatively obvious. Eat fruits and vegetables and your chances of all illness will decrease. What I like about this app, is that in addition to food suggestions, (including spices) it suggests preparation options, the principles behind it’s usefulness, and a description of the plant.

How to be Happy

How to be happy gives you a brief quiz by breaking down “life” into several categories. Then, it tells you, based on the results what areas you need to improve upon to be “happier.” For example, the result might say that you need to make an effort to be more social. I think this app is a good primer for exploring the idea of “happiness” and it’s free!

iHome+Sleep, the alarm clock app from the experts on alarm clocks

At first, I thought this app was just a fancy alarm clock. I didn’t like it because it drained my battery. Then, I realized that it gives you stats about your sleeping habits and snooze cycles. It also calculates the amount of hours you sleep per week, most recent bedtimes, and most recent wake times. My favorite feature is actually the bedtime dimmer, which you can use to dim the screen. This is very handy when you are trying to fall asleep. My only wish is that it ran in the background, so that I could be doing other tasks with my phone. Or maybe I just haven’t figured that out yet? Oh yeah, and it is a little tough on the battery.

iVegan

This app is awesome because it lists a ton of ingredients and food additives and tells you if they are vegan or not. One of the most difficult parts of being a vegan is reading all of the food labels. They can be very difficult to understand, especially items like acesulfame K? What is that? I don’t know, but it’s vegan! A must have for any vegan food shopper.

White Noise Free: sounds for sleep and relaxation

White Noise is very relaxing. It’s also very useful in noisy environments because if you turn it on and you turn it up next to you, your mind will focus on the white noise and tune out the bothersome noise. Also, this app features several other relaxing soundscapes such as, the ocean, chimes, and an oscillating fan. You can also create mixes, use it like an alarm clock, and put it on a timer.

Nike+ Training Club – Workouts for every level, guided by the world’s best trainers.

This app suggests exercises for you based on intensity level and your preferred sport. The training program reminds me a little Crossfit, in that it’s a series of exercises meant to be done in a short time that burn fat.
I am a little skeptical because I tried to enter two different programs, meaning that I was training for two different sports and it gave me the same training routine for both. So, I don’t know if it’s just a random selection or if the workouts are actually tailored to the sport. But, any exercise is good exercise!
