Ben & Jerry’s iPhone app is a little scoop of frozen, creamy happiness

If you are addicted to the gooey marshmallow and caramel swirls of Phish Food like I am, then you should check out the freeBen & Jerry’s Scoop of Happiness iPhone app. The app is a handheld library of all Ben & Jerry’s ice cream goodness. Just one glance at the freezer section of this app and I was running out to the store to grab me a pint of FroYo Cherry Garcia.

Like a crayon box filled with ever-changing colors, Ben & Jerry’s eclectic ice creams are updated constantly with crazy new flavors, which are launched all the time. The “favorites” function on this iPhone app helps you keep track of the flavors you’ve tasted and want to devour again. One thing in the app that I could have done without is the nutrition value. Its ice cream; I already know it isn’t going to be good for me.

Of course, the iPhone app uses your GPS functions to find the ice cream brand’s scoop shop closest to you, but it doesn’t go as far as to tell you the closest non-brand store to buy a pint. I hope there is an upgrade soon to include all locations selling my favorite pints. I’ve been known to run around stores in Chicago in a frantic diet phase to find some FroYo Phish Food. Get out of my way people, the lady need needs her Phish Food!

The iPhone app was originally launched to promote the Ben & Jerry’s free cone day in March, so I hope they update soon with a countdown to the 2011 event.
