Apps for Hypochondriacs

Feb 4, 2011

Or… just people who are interested in medicine, the human body, anatomy, and science.

WebMD for iPad

The hypochondriacs favorite site/tool/app. Complete with symptom checker, drugs, treatments, and conditions, including a “Local Health Listings” feature that uses your current location, lets you search by specialty, and find a doctor nearby.

And ok – full of a ton of interesting information on health and medicine.

Body Scientific Charts and Books

Fascinating charts and books about things like the common cold, electrotherapy, and eye anatomy. Some charts are free – others are not.

Nutrients – Nutrition facts for foods and recipes

Feeling a little vitamin-A deficient? Use this app to see what kinds of vitamins and nutrients are in just about every food. I was curious about kale and arugula – turns out they’re excellent sources of Vitamins A and K.

Wikipanion for iPad

When Google and WebMD isn’t enough, Wikipanion can help find more details on conditions and systems.
