Apple releases iOS 5.1.1 update for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch

Check your iOS device later and you should discover a new software update waiting. It’s only a minor update but it contains a few improvements and bug fixes.

According to the description from Apple (via ArsTechnica), iOS 5.1.1 improves the reliability of the HDR photo option when you try to take photos using the camera app shortcut on the lock screen. It also fixes some AirPlay-related issues which affect video playback, but no specific information is offered.

Also, there are reliability improvements when it comes to syncing Safari bookmarklets and an issue where the iTunes App Store would display an “Unable to purchase” alert even after a successful purchase, has been fixed.

For iPad users, expect to see a bug addressed where the tablet would have difficulty switching between 2G and 3G networks.

You can update your device via iTunes or simply by going to Settings > General > Software Update within the device itself.
