According to unnamed sources with the Federal Trade Commission and Justice Department, Apple may be playing an entirely new version of monopoly on the iPhone. Also in today’s App Industry Roundup, Marvel’s Iron Man breaks through on the iPhone, Android gets personal with Mint.com, and the popular Dropbox productivity app is now tailor-made for the iPad.

Android phones get minty fresh finance app 

Available on the iPhone since last September, personal finance application Mint.com can now be downloaded onto Android phones. The app, now part of Intuit’s corporate family after a $170 million acquisition last year, takes advantage of a number of Google-specific features. The app is free to download. 

Working better on your iPad 

Particularly with 3G connectivity capabilities, the iPad for many is already replacing the laptop as a chosen method of mobile computing. More third-party applications like Dropbox promise to make productivity even greater on your 9.7-inch device. The popular and free file-sharing iPhone app now has an update tailor-made for the iPad.
