Easter is just around the corner, and that means religious services, egg hunts, being the best-dressed person and a good meal.  Your Android phone can help you keep track of all the things you’ll need for Easter morning.

While the Android Market doesn’t have nearly as many niche apps for Easter as Apple’s iTunes App Store, there are still a handful of Android apps that can offer sanity, creativity and inspiration to this holiday.

Easter-specific

Keeping track of Easter can be a tricky task—it seems to hop around every year, even occurring in different months at times. Date Tools is a date calculator with multiple functions, including an Easter-specific calculator. Extremely basic, the free Android app still works better than most Easter-only date calculator apps for Android.

Easter Cheer is probably one of the best Easter-specific apps in the Android Market. With a well-designed interface and easy-to-use editing tools, the free Android app lets you create adorable Easter greetings to send to friends or post on a social networking profile. Greetings can also be used as custom wallpaper for your Android phone.

PicSay Pro’s Android app isn’t Easter-specific, but its holiday options for personalizing photos is. Take a photo or pull one from your phone’s gallery, add a caption and select from one of the new Easter themes. The free Android app also has a social-sharing mechanism for sending your modified images to friends and loved ones.

Food for the soul

Bible is a rather involved search app designed for Android phones. The free Android app lets you seek out the Bible verses you need based on keyword, occasion and book, among other options. The Bible app supports over 40 languages and has multiple versions of the Bible to choose from.

Whether you’re looking for a local retailer, place of worship or a nearby brunch spot, Aloqa has you covered. Find local venues and search easily across a number of pre-determined categories, making for quick access. Reviews, ratings, venue details and directions are available with this free Android app.

Urbanspoon is a free Android app for finding the best restaurants around, which is a big deal for many Easter-goers.  Shake your phone to get a recommendation, or do a search. Access venue details, call directly from the app, and read the reviews of others. Filter search by cuisine, price and neighborhood to find just the right eatery.

BigOven is a useful Android app to help bring out your inner chef for Easter dinner.  With the free Android app you can search recipes, mark your favorites and browse the most popular.  The app is integrated with its Web site, so you can access its existing database for user reviews and comments.
