Amazon’s entry in the mobile shopping world offers few surprises, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

As Amazon has worked its way up to be a top online retailer, it has done so on a model of strong customer service, competitive pricing and unique features not found at other online retailers.

Amazon Mobile continues this tradition by first offering up a basic mobile replica of the amazon.com Web site. You can search for items, read descriptions, and access your wish list if you have an Amazon account.

The biggest place the app differs is in an added feature called Amazon Remembers. This feature lets you take a picture of an item and upload it to the Amazon servers.

From there, the folks at Amazon track down an item you can purchase that resembles the picture you took. Love your friend’s TV and want to know if you can afford it without asking? Amazon Remembers has your back.

Aside from Remembers, Amazon Mobile offers exactly what you’d expect — an easy to use shopping experience that has all of the same frills as the Web version. In Amazon’s case, that’s not such a bad thing at all.
