5 iPad Apps that Apple FORGOT!

Whistle Phone

This is a fantastic phone app. No, you don’t have to hold your iPad up to the side of your head and pretend it’s a giant iPhone. You can talk into it just like you would a speaker phone. Whistle lets you make normal phone calls just like you would to any normal phone. You can buy minutes on the iTunes store, and you’ll save a TON on your monthly phone bill. Whistle is a must-have communications app for your iPad or iPhone.

RetroCalc

You’ve probably noticed by now that your iPad doesn’t come with a calculator. But even if it did, you’d probably delete your old calculator in a nanosecond after seeing how amazing RetroCalc looks. RetroCalc for iPad is easily the most visually stunning calculator app on the App Store. This collection of calculators and backgrounds, lets you swipe back and forth to choose the perfect calculator / background combo. The graphics are superb, and the calculators themselves are exactly what you need, and very easy to use. RetroCalc is an absolutely brilliant app for anyone with an iPad.

Audio Memos – The Voice Recorder

The iPhone lets you record voice memos, but for some reason Apple figured iPad owners wouldn’t want to do the same thing. Why? Again, I have no idea. Audio Memos 2 is a great solution for anyone who prefers to “speak” a quick memo to themselves rather than peck away at the iPad’s onscreen keyboard.

Pages

Well… it’s hard to make the claim that Apple “forgot” to include Pages, because Pages is one of the few apps that’s actually made by Apple. But the app is so good, and so essential that it should probably have come pre-installed by default. Pages is Apple’s word-processing / page publishing app for iPad. It’s a full WYSIWYG interface, and it’s capable of creating extremely professional, polished results. An excellent app — if a little pricey at $9.99

Merriam-Webster Dictionary

There are few things more essential than calculators and dictionaries. The calculator app, I’ve already covered above. As for dictionaries — this one has everything you need. It also includes a handy “voice search” which lets you speak a word for quick access. Merriam Webster Dictionary is a highly polished, well produced app for iPhone and iPad.
