Yoga In Bed iPhone app a great way for beginners to achieve nirvana

I was excited to review theYoga In Bed iPhone app ($1.99) because the creator’s Web site had beautiful music on it, which was a great background music to which I wrote this review. I can recommend this iPhone app to anyone seeking excellent low-impact and relaxing yoga instruction, even though I found the often slow and somewhat unnatural way of speaking throughout the audio distracting at best.

One nice feature of this iPhone app is the yoga alarm clock.  You can choose between any of the four audio clips to awaken or start your practice to. Like any good yoga teacher, this iPhone app encourages you through audio clips, which range from 12 to 40 minutes, to slow down and take the time for your yoga practice. Be aware of this when purchasing, as I was quite surprised to find so much recorded material.

In-app purchasing would be very well suited to the next version of the iPhone app, as I’d like to be able to download more content, as the replay value of much of the audio is likely not very high.

I would have preferred the iPhone app’s recordings to be a little more natural in feel and flow, but the instructions themselves are simply first-rate. It’s clear that Johnna knows yoga through her own experience in practice and in teaching. Therefore, this is a great introductory audio yoga class in bed or out of it. The instructions are easy to understand with a minimum of Sanskrit terms for beginners, and has enough excellent material, although often oddly voiced, to get your morning or evening yoga practice started.
