Final Fantasy V ($15.99)
What’s it about? Developer Square Enix continues to bring its classic Final Fantasy role-playing titles to iOS, allowing players to relive the popular stories and turn-based battles – or try them for the first time.
What’s cool? Another in the line of Final Fantasy titles of yore popping up on iOS, Final Fantasy V takes players back to a game released 20 years ago in Japan, and that only made its way to the U.S. as a remake featured on the Sony Playstation. Final Fantasy V tells the story of four different characters who join together on a world-spanning adventure, each with a different set of skills and abilities related to their “job.” The famous job system allows a huge amount of customization, with 26 available roles you can assign your characters based on your play style.
Who’s it for? If you’re into old-school role-playing games and the Final Fantasy series in general, FFV is a piece of history.
Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops ($0.99)

What’s cool? Your job in Tiny Troopers 2 is to take control of a squad of soldiers and lead them into battle. From a top-down perspective, you’ll move troops around the battlefield, engaging enemy soldiers by using each squad member’s specific capabilities – like flamethrowers and machine guns. Working through the game requires you to recruit new squad members with different jobs, like medics, in order to keep you successful and keep your squad in the fight. Tiny Troopers 2 includes vehicle missions in which you’ll drive Humvees and avoid tanks, and there’s also a zombie mode that pits your squad against hordes of the undead.
Who’s it for? Players who like their strategy titles a little more focused and specialized will enjoy commanding squads in Tiny Troopers 2.
