ProCollage ($1.99)

What’s it about? Your iPhone or iPad already offers the amazing ability to snap and share photos from wherever you are, and ProCollage takes all those images to the next level by making it easy to create great-looking photo collages that better present your handiwork.

What’s cool? Lots of apps give you the ability to take and share photos, but what if you take multiple photos of an event or moment and want to share them together? ProCollage lets you go from sending one photo at a time out into the world to creating a more specific collection, offering a number of different templates and designs into which you can easily snap the photos you take with your iOS devices. It allows you to either make a collage based on easy designs, or amake up a design of your own, and includes the ability to stitch photos together to create panoramas, as well. When you’re done, it’s easy to share your collages online through Facebook, Instagram, and more.

Who’s it for? If you’re an iOS photographer who wants more options for sharing images in different ways, check out the options available in ProCollage.

What’s it like? Other cool collage apps include Photo Collage ∞ and Pic Collage.

Ms. Splosion Man ($2.99)

What’s it about? Explode scientists and escape the evil labs as Ms. Splosion Man, a 2-D platformer that’s made the leap from Xbox 360 Arcade to iOS.

What’s cool? Last year, Ms. Splosion Man hit the Xbox 360’s downloadable store and was lauded for being among the better 2-D platforming games on the market. Now on iOS, the game is just as good, putting players in the role of the explosive creature Ms. Splosion Man and asking them to run through 50 levels of platforming action. Your ability as Ms. Splosion Man is to explode by tapping the screen, which serves to propel you through the air as well as wreak wanton destruction on your captors. Mixing timing with smart environmental puzzles and the occasional huge boss fight, Ms. Splosion Man takes tried and true platforming formulas and makes them fresh with its explosion mechanic and speedy gameplay. Plus, it’s rather hilarious.

Who’s it for? Fans of platformers should definitely not miss Ms. Splosion Man.

What’s it like? Capcom released a very similar (and because of that, controversial) platformer called MaXplosion, and Mos Speedrun also provides some great, fast-paced platformer action.

Edge of Twilight – Athyr Above ($4.99)

What’s it about? A top-down action role-playing title, Edge of Twilight puts players in the role of a slightly magical character, in a steampunk world filled with monsters.

What’s cool? Edge of Twilight’s best aspect is the world it creates, starting with an extended cutscene that introduces a steampunk universe and packs in the production values. With some solid graphics and voice acting, the game sends players on a mission to reunite night and day in order to keep the world from descending into chaos. As Lex, a sword-wielding bounty hunter, players have the ability to freely move between night and day – something no one else can do – to accomplish the goals of the story. Edge of Twilight also features some intuitive fight controls that have players tapping on enemies and rubbing the screen, rather than jamming on virtual buttons like many other games in the genre.

Who’s it for? Fans of steampunk and fast-action gameplay should check out Edge of Twilight.

What’s it like? Try Wild Blood and Horn for another pair of games with great, deep worlds.
