Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed ($4.99)

What’s it about? The sequel to Sonic & Sega All Stars, a kart racer featuring a number of famous Sega video game characters, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed adds a new dimension to players’ races across game-inspired tracks.

What’s cool? Like most kart racers, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed has players drifting around corners in various cars driven by game characters, grabbing weapons to use against opponents and blasting over jumps and boosters to gain an advantage. The “Transformed” part of the title refers to the fact that players will take their karts from the land to sea to air through various races, transforming on the spot to handle new terrain and challenges. You’ll be able to find alternate routes to finish tracks that can give you a leg-up on the competition, and Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed features Facebook connectivity so you can see how your friends are doing, as well as four-player multiplayer races so you can challenge them directly.
