iPad and iPhone Apps for Long Plane Trip

Kindle – Read Books, eBooks, Magazines, Newspapers & Textbooks

Before leaving I purchased a few books that I wanted to take with me. I spent some time reading both on the plane and in the airport when my flight was delayed. If you enjoy reading, this is a must have. Of course iBooks is also on my iPad, and I also loaded some classics on there, though I didn’t actually read any of those. At this point, iBooks doesn’t have quite enough books in its store for me to consider it totally useful. At least, not of the ones that I want. So I use iBooks for free classics and such and Kindle for purchased books.

Videos | Photoshop CS4 New Feature Tutorials

I guess they don’t have the standard iPad Video app in here yet, but that’s what this should be. Don’t know anything about Photoshop, I’m afraid. lol. Anyway, I loaded up the whole 4th season of Dexter (the serial killer show on Showtime, not the kids cartoon) and watched a few while others were trying to watch some horrible in flight movie that I didn’t want to see.

Find My iPhone

I didn’t end up needing this, but I put the MobileMe app on both my iPhone and iPad in case I left one of them somewhere and wasn’t sure where.

Osmos for iPad

A nice relaxing, almost Zen, game for sitting on a plane. Also doesn’t require a lot of movement. You don’t have lots of space on a plane, so you don’t want any games that require major gyrations or motions that might bother your neighbor who may be trying to sleep.

Angry Birds

Another good game for killing time. Lots of levels and it is challenging without quite becoming frustrating. Also doesn’t require a lot of movement. You don’t have lots of space on a plane, so you don’t want any games that require major gyrations or motions that might bother your neighbor who may be trying to sleep.

10 Pin Shuffle Pro Bowling

I put this on both my iPad and iPhone on the off chance that my seat neighbor was bored and wanted to play. The iPad and iPhone apps are capable of playing together via BlueTooth so it would be perfect if you had the right person next to you or were travelling with someone. Alas, the people I sat next to were all sleepers (could have been because they were both late night flights across the ocean lol).
