Go positively mad for these five NCAA tournament apps

It’s that one time a year that everyone, from your teenage fantasy sports fanatic, to your clueless officemate, to President Obama, transforms into basketball junkies for the NCAA Tournament. With this year’s tournament underway, we’ve put together a list of the latest iOS apps to guide you through the tournament. The madness culminates with Final Four and championship game on April 7, all held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

NCAA® March Madness® Live (Free)

March Madness wouldn’t be complete without an official app from the NCAA and Turner Sports. This year’s version features live streaming of all 67 games (assuming you already have a paid cable subscription to grab the games on TNT, TruTV and TBS), an always up-to-date list of scores and statistics, an interactive tournament bracket and a link to make your own picks in the Capital One NCAA March Madness Bracket Challenge. The app also tracks each game’s best moments with video clips, photos and tweets.

If you prefer your bracketology via ESPN, ESPN Tournament Challenge is the app for you! Users can start their own bracket groups or join a preexisting group, fill out their brackets and compete against each other for a chance to win $10,000. With an easy to use design, you’ll be able to see your own picks and compare it to the official tournament bracket.

Sporting News NCAA Basketball (Free)

The Sporting News’ NCAA hoops app features complete user customization, so you only follow the teams and conferences in which you’re interested. It also supports push notifications to ensure you’ll get breaking news right as it happens. News can also be shared via Facebook and Twitter.

Tournament Glory College Basketball 2014 ($2.99)

For video gamer sports fans, there’s Tournament Glory College Basketball 2014. Tournament Glory is a coaching simulation, where users take control as the head coach of a college basketball team. Players must set lineups and recruit new freshman, all while trying to get to win the NCAA tournament. It won’t visually wow users, but it has a style all its own.
