Car Talk iPhone app is one for the road for car buffs

Car Talk, a new app from Jacob’s Media, brings the Tappet Brothers to your iPhone or iPod Touch. For 99 cents, you can get access to the their weekly radio show on NPR, where callers ask questions about their car troubles. The result is a lot of useful car knowledge handed out with plenty of laughs along the way.

For fans of the show, the app is definitely worth downloading. You can listen to the new show or an older episode by subscribing to their podcast. The app also comes with a few other functions for listeners’ enjoyment, which include extra laughs and the top nine car noises.

For someone unfamiliar with the show, I’d suggest trying it out for free by listening to the Tappet Brother’s weekly NPR radio show first. Car buffs and mechanics will laugh at listeners’ sometimes ridiculous questions, but everyday drivers might get some useful tips on simple car repair and diagnosing the various blinking lights, rattles, and clanks from their automobile.
