Call up your fave 40 with AOL Radio

AOL Radio to your iPhone is like what satellite radio is to your car — minus the cost.

The service comes equipped with a lot of choices. From comedy to Latin Jazz and even an exclusive station for Michael Jackson, AOL Radio has virtually every music genre and entertainment category covered. The app is divided among 25 genres and even more sub-genres representing more than 200 stations. This includes more than 150 stations from CBS Radio, giving you local radio from across the country.

Even if AOL Radio were a paid application it would be pretty impressive. It’s also pretty easy to use.

The “Stations” menu has a simple interface that is organized alphabetically to keep you from getting lost in the shuffle. If you find a station or a song you like, just save it in your favorites tab and come back to it later. Touch a saved song and you’ll be asked if you prefer your music in iTunes or AOL Music.

Your iPhone or iPod touch also automatically saves your most recent listens under the “Recents” tab. The only downside of the application is that you occasionally have to listen to a commercial or two.
