Burn some serious rubber on the cheap with Asphalt 7: Heat

Asphalt 7: Heat is the latest in the long running series of racer’s from Gameloft. Over the years, visuals have evolved into this stunning looking game, but the gameplay innovation seems to have plateaued, and this is really more of the same. Then again, if you haven’t been following the series, then that just means you’ll see the most polished version of the game yet. Considering the game is only one dollar thanks to their new pricing model, I’d recommend it either way.

If you’ve played Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, then you mostly know what to expect from this title. They are very similar, and even continue to use the same visual effects when you nitro boost. The main difference is the lack of single linear campaign. Instead, you’ll race in cups which are split between seven tiers of vehicle performance. Each tier gives you a totally different selection of cars. After you complete them, you’ll revisit lower tiers with higher level AI, ramping up the challenge. In fact, the game is quite easy for a very long time.

Even though we’ve seen it all before, there is a lot of variety to be found here, whether you’re talking about the different race types, vehicle upgrades, or the many control scheme options. With some of the best racing visuals around, solid production values, and such a low, low price, there’s no reason not to try it out. I still prefer the lengthier, meatier, more expensive Gameloft games, such as Asphalt 6, but there’s no denying that this game is still great.
